How MeshLock collects, uses and protects your personal information, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

Information you give us

  • Contact details, such as your name, email address, phone number and physical or installation address.
  • Project details, such as opening sizes, site photos, the type of space and any notes you share with us.
  • Communications, including enquiries, quote requests, emails, WhatsApp messages and call records.
  • Billing details needed to invoice and receive payment. We do not store full card details on our website.

Information collected automatically

  • Technical data, such as your IP address, browser type, device type and operating system.
  • Usage data, such as the pages you visit, the time spent on them and the website that referred you.
  • Information collected through cookies and similar technologies (see section 7).

4. How we use your information

  • To respond to enquiries and prepare quotes.
  • To arrange consultations, site assessments, measurements, manufacturing and installation.
  • To communicate with you about your order, delivery, installation and after-sales care.
  • To issue invoices, process payments and keep business records.
  • To operate, maintain, secure and improve our website.
  • To send you updates or offers, where you have agreed to this (see section 12).

We collect only the information that is adequate, relevant and not excessive for these purposes.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share it only with:

  • our employees, contractors and installation teams who need it to deliver our services;
  • service providers who support our business, such as website hosting, email, IT, accounting and analytics providers, under agreements that require them to keep it confidential and secure;

No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the Information Regulator of a security compromise as required by POPIA.

Under POPIA, you have the right to:

  • ask whether we hold personal information about you and request access to it;
  • ask us to correct, update or delete information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete or unlawfully obtained;
  • object to the processing of your information on reasonable grounds;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where processing is based on consent; and
  • object to direct marketing at any time.

If you believe we have not handled your information properly, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) via inforegulator.org.za.

12. Direct marketing

We will only send you marketing communications if you are an existing customer and the communication relates to similar products or services, or if you have given your consent. Every marketing message will include a simple way to unsubscribe.

13. Children

Our website and services are not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without the consent of a parent or guardian.
